Sample Post [Must be 500 words in length]- The dark colored canine slowly made her way over to the creek. She was careful to place her paws down carefully and only after she had already tested it to be sure that she was safe from sinking in to the deep snow. City had figured that there must have been a recent blizzard or else all this slightly frozen water wouldnít have been quite so deep. After a few slips, City had learned rather quickly how to safely cross the snow, and it wasnít long until her black coat was now splattered in many places with cold flakes from all of the precipitation that had yet to completely melt from her pelt. It was during all these moments just like this where City had become very grateful for her color. She was completely black except for one spot on her forehead where she had a white star.
City moved along the partially frozen creek in search of a place that wasnít completely covered in ice. Finally finding the closest spot, she lowered her head to lap at the icy water. It was quite refreshing after her long trek through the land. City had been walking for a long while now and had eventually come to a halt at the first place she had found a trace of canine. At the moment she didnít see any wolves or other creatures but her nose confirmed the fact that they were somewhere around here. City had not socialized with anyone that happened to be of her own species in a long while. It had been too long.
Finally, she had drank her full of the water and City backed up and looked around with lavender colored eyes. She did not know the area where she was and had no intentions of going out to search for another pack. City knew that it would end badly if she ended up stumbling into a rival packs territory. She had experienced hands on what a rival pack could do and now City had no intentions of pissing off any strangers. So now the wolf was left waiting to see if anyone would dare to approach her. Although, she didnít mind being in completely solitude so much but after living alone the past year or so, City had grown used to living by herself. That didnít necessarily mean she liked it, but then again it was nothing new to her.
As she stood in silence, City thought, and by thought I donít mean rainbows and unicorns and other happy nonsense, but quite the opposite. She thought of her past. It was clear in her head the day when the wolf was forced to watch everyone in her family be slaughtered by a pack of wolves she had believed to be her packs allies. But apparently she was wrong, they all were. The wolves had ripped her father to shreds the captured her mother. She barely had managed to escape herself, and she knew as a fact that she was the only one to make it out. Later City had snuck close to the rival packs home and had arrived just in time to see her own mother, starved and breathing her last breath and collapse to the ground in absolute horror. Since then she had gone as far away from there as she could and ended up in these new lands.
