aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

He followed closely the scent of his siblings towards Aurora Borealis. Not all of his siblings... that would be a pack and a half. No, just the ones that had decided they wanted to move back to the land they were born in. Papercut had allowed himself to fall back from the sight of the other four. It was a typical move for the young wolf. He didn't really care much for ranks among his siblings so he was often following, but he did always have that rebellious 'I'll do things my way and my way will be different than yours' sort if streak in him. Ahh yes, every family no matter how big or small had that one, didn't they? He was the one who followed the minimal amount of rules at home, and would spend time seeking out young rouges about his age to either hang out or pick fights with. Despite having an inherited slender build, his almost scrawny even, the mostly ebony teen was actually quite a scrapper. He'd been the biggest pain in the side of actually really good parents. Hey, out of eighteen or so kids it's fitting for there to be at least one with an overly independent streak.

Papercut heard the sharp bark from his sister, demanding the all siblings' appearance. He scowled sarcastically to himself, deciding he would take his sweet time getting there. Who was she to order him around, anyways? She wasn't mom or dad. He probably would have waited right up until she snapped to appear in the clearing, except he heard a vaguely familiar voice, cause his ears to perk curiously forward. He practiced walking in the shadows, since when night fell he always tried to blend in. Papercut was almost entirely black, and was also the only of the litter to have gotten the same stripe on his back as his mother had. Except his was blood crimson in color, as if someone had taken a knife to the back of a black wolf and cut a line down it. Turning towards the clearing, within a few minutes the lanky wolf was emerging from trees to see a third of his siblings gathered. The four he had knew was there, the other two was something of a shock for his blue eyes to land upon.

A brow raised inquisitively as his eyes shifted between the lost siblings and the four he was familiar to … there was no denying the awkwardness that had settled, whether more from his entrance or theirs he couldn't quite tell. He took more steps until he was a pretty even distance from everyone. Saydin and Mimic... it was funny, he remembered when their parents would talk to them all as they grew, how lucky they all were to have lived. Originally the litter contained twenty, but two died before the first day was even over. Then later, in the process of moving the eighteen count litter to the land outside of Blossom Forest that would be their home after that, Paperlace and Athena had thought they'd lost two others to some sort of predator. These two, actually. He remembered his mother crying for days after they first got moved in over it. A smirk appeared across his face and he directed his words towards Xena.

Silly us, thinking they were dead all this time.

With a sarcastic scoff he nodded bluntly towards Mimic and Saydin. It was pretty obvious in his tone that he was showing a bit of an attitude towards Xena, not towards them. He didn't mind them no longer being dead, but he fact was there weren't really any of his siblings he got along with well. They were usually either shy or serious or … well, or they were Xena. She took up an authoritative role among the siblings, especially when mom or dad weren't around, so he naturally disliked her the most. Disliked in a perfectly sibling way – there were times he wanted to kill her, but he would kill for her anytime. But yes, it was the reason he mostly sought out rogues to hang out with, or even to fight against, because he got along with them better than anyone at home. So sibling reunion … he wasn't excited about, neither was he hostile. Pretty apathetic, actually. He placed his rump against the ground, showing obvious distaste for his presence having been demanded there, and watched Xena to wait for whatever instructions or whatever she had.
