Adoption Den

It's a heart-wrenching sight when newborn foals are abandoned by their parents, and left to fend for themselves. A fairy tends to them while they are here and encourages mares without three foals already within her care to adopt one. The fairy can only do so much however, and in the end, a mother of the same species is best for the babe. Their pitiful cries are demanding, and often confused, just wondering where their mother is.

Absolution x Graveyard Rose

It felt like he was laying there for hours. Every minute that ticked away didn’t feel like one, that one minute was like half an hour passing by. At first he had sat up, watching his mother leave and when he couldn’t see her anymore his eyes moved around this place. It was quiet, almost too quiet for the young colt. But he was too scared and too tired to get up his feet and go away. Following his mother wasn’t a good idea, but he also didn’t know where to go when he couldn’t go in the same direction as Graveyard Rose. No, staying here felt like the best option.

The sound of hooves that moved through the high grass made him twist one of his ears. He could just use one of them, since he laid flat down. His whole body hurt, but he didn’t feel much from the pain. It was nothing compared with the pain he felt emotionally. When he felt a soft nose touching his body he lifted his head from the ground. But when he saw the mare he laid his head down again. He softly snorted, moving his ear in her direction and looked at her out of the corner of his eye. Her voice sounded strange to him, he had only heard is his mother’s voice. Blinking a few times with his eyes he managed to sit up again, so he could easier look at her. ”Can you make my mother love me..?” he softly asked her. In his eyes that was to only solution to his problems and still he wished her to love him. He wanted that his mother took care of him. And now Rayah says she want to help him. His eyes focused on hers and it didn’t take long before both of his ears were pointing forward.

”Healing water?” he softly repeats her words. This was quite interesting. How could water have a healing function? Did some sort of wizard cast a spell over it? The dark, but already graying colt, looked at Rayah, willing her to tell him more about the water and her home.
