Aevie’s ears twitched as she heard someone approaching. She was still adjusting herself to the noises and smells of the world around her. She couldn’t yet pick out the differences between the kingdoms and the different lands across Beqanna, which was something she would have to acquire with time. She didn’t know of the other kingdoms yet either, something else that the little blue and white filly would have to learn.
Her bright amber eyes discovered the source of the hoof steps she had been hearing. He was obviously older than her. He moved much more easily on his long thin legs and didn’t shudder every time the cool spring breeze moved over his body. He was taller and more filled out than she was as well. When he stopped and began to speak Aevie smiled and tilted her head to one side. “Hi. I’m Aevie, I’m from the Chamber.” She admired his dark coloring for a minute, taking in his looks before continuing, “Where are you from?” He did smell different than she knew that the Chamber horses did, but she didn’t know what he smelled like.
She stood patiently, swishing her fluffy foal tail against her small haunches when she hears someone else approaching. She looks at him, admiring his coloring as well and how his white mane and tail stood out against his chocolaty pelt. He was noticeably older than she was as well, her stature and fluffiness giving away how young she was. He had the same smell as Diresong, she assumed they were from the same home, maybe they were brothers or something. She batted her eyelashes at him, and then stared blankly into his green eyes as he said her name without even asking for an introduction.
The name Maersk kind of rang a bell when he spoke it, but she still stared at him, almost dully, before tilting her head and giving him a crooked little smile as well. “Yeah, I’m Aevie...” She said slowly. She wasn't sure what to think about him already knowing her name. Starlace may have mentioned to the girl her siblings’ names, but if she had, Aevie had failed to remember them. “Are you from the same place as him, Maersk?” She said, carefully pronouncing his name, trying carefully not to forget it. She motioned to Diresong with her little head, smiling at him again.
