Playground
Parents do not fear; your children are safe in the Playground. A benevolent fairy watches over young colts and fillies who come to frolic here. The trees are ancient things, and widely spaced (excellent for tag) and there are several low logs to leap over and many ponds and thickets full of wonder for the little ones. Come play and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

Diresong Winter King of the Tundra
Diresong cannot help but notice Aevie’s seeming lack of interest in the Tundra, but can’t really blame her; she is after all a girl – why would a girl be all that intrigued by a place full of boys? His attention quickly diverted to his companion as he began to answer his nephew and sister’s question. Maersk’s answer to the issue of why his mother had sent him away – something Diresong could not quite comprehend, though he could understand the idea of duty to one’s allies – sufficed to quell the young colt’s curiosity for now, and so he lets the matter drop, only chuckling at Aevie’s summary of Maersk’s explanation. A gift was a hilarious notion for what had happened, at least in Diresong’s opinion.
He is far more intrigued by the celery eyed boy’s description of their extensive family. Not quite knowing the connection between their families, the black colt does not realize that Maersk’s mother is no relation of his, and thus, not all of the siblings Maersk’s lists are his own relations. But even if he had known, it would have made little difference to Diresong; these were still Maersk’s family, and part of the Chamber’s royal family, and that made them important persons to the Tundra king.
Maersk’s amused observation of his close personal relationship to so much royalty brings a grin to Diresong’s features; he considers the other boy a close enough companion to not even consider how Maersk’s close position to power could be potentially dangerous – he is too young to have his mother’s scheming mind for such matters.
The colt is surprised by the sudden appearance of another filly, this one a yearling who announces herself as Maersk’s sister. Diresong watches her with interest, intrigued not only to be meeting part of this extensive family he’s discovered, but also because this was Maersk’s sister; Maersk, whom he considers one of his closest companions. He grins as Valien puts forth the idea of a family army; not a bad idea really, one which the young king shuffles away to the back of his mind for further contemplation at a later date.
Diresong’s ears flick to Valien, blinking at the tone of voice she uses when speaking his name, but easily forgets it as she smiles, grinning in response to her question. Interesting; I’d recommend it, if you don’t mind working 24/7. He blinks as she steps closer, not backing down in the face of such obvious contemplation, staring back at her unabashedly. Her attention quickly flicks to Aevie however, and Diresong cannot help but feel as if he should also be taking Valien’s advice to the young filly. Maybe we should have a family reunion, the colt said with a wry smile. He had been meaning to see the Chamber anyway, and it would be useful to meet the rest of the family.
