Quests

As soon as one does enter, a magical feeling does envelop them. The wind rustles gently, bringing the quiet whicker of a rare unicorn. Would she appear to you, bringing the mighty mythic fairy, or will you be forced to bask in the shadows?

Quests will be announced by a faerie on the board (and sometimes, but not always, on the OOC board). Please do not ask for a quest.

The faerie responsible for your quest will tell you whether or not any traits/defects you earn will be 'genetic' (allowed to be included in breeding posts).

With a squeal of rusty hinges, the door swings open just wide enough to admit a mare of Nazul’s size. It seems to be a door to the outside, for once the tatooed mare has crossed the threshold her hooves are once again on sweet-smelling grass and the sky is blue overhead. There is no sign of the maker of the soft noises, though Nazul looks from left to right. Were she to turn around, she would find the door she has just walked through has vanished entirely, and behind her stretches endless green hills.

The wind blows quietly through the place where Nazul stands, and the sound of birds…is strangely absent. In fact, there are no signs of any animal life at all. Several hours pass, allowing Nazul time to explore the area that she has arrived in, and though time is clearly moving, the sun overhead has not altered its position at all. AS Nazul grazes – or drinks from the shallow pond, or does whatever it is Nazul does when she is bored – a noise draws her attention. It is the sound of a tree falling, a low thud, but surely not all of the trees are falling!

The sound continues, coming closer, until it becomes clear that it is not trees hitting the ground, but feet.

Over the nearest hill comes a strange creature like no horse of Beqanna has ever seen before. It looks to be a brilliant red, though as it draws nearer, Nazul can see that its color shifts like those of the flames she had seen earlier, changing from red to orange and occasionally blue, though red remains the dominant color. Its body is similar to that of a male lion – if lions had red-gold wings and manes composed of flickering flame and were the size of an adult horse – and it advances on Nazul with a growl. Its movements are strangely clumsy, but there is no doubt that the animal is dangerous, and with a snarl, it leaps forward.

this is the reason that the animals are gone, Nazul realizes in the split second before the fire-lion attacks. Even from a distance she can feel the heat emanating from its body, and there is no doubt that she will burn on contact.

Sour task: survive. You may play the fire lion as you will. You have three days to reply.
