Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

The Sweet Smell of R A I N [Closed]

Four paws patter across stony ground, auditories flicker, and a slender frame slides to a stunned halt. It all comes upon me in a matter of seconds and it causes my heart to leap toward the sky in ecstasy, before plummeting to the earth in dread. It lays upon the ground bruised, and soiled, beating painfully until I desire to rip it out. I hold a choked breath in my throat, unaware that I'm even doing it. I had left this place, many moons ago; fleeing a male, fleeing my past. My present. And my future all at the same time. I had run without hesitating, without thinking. Simply made haste and ran as fast as I possibly could. However life on my own, had taken a turn for the worst. And the desolate, isolated area I had taken up residence in became overrun with predators. I had left, wandering aimlessly, a nomad of sorts, having nowhere to go, I walked, and walked, and walked. Now before me stood a looming, rocky cliff. The landmark left me with a knot in my stomach telling me exactly where I stand. Blossom Forest.

I draw a slow, uneasy, almost haunted breath and step forward, looking at the craggy cliff and grit my teeth. A thin layer of cottony clouds, however despite this I can just make out the peak of the cliff through the white ring. The clouds form a haze that matches the fogginess in my mind. I mentally shake my cranium attempting to clear the fog. Every thought, every fiber of my body, every molecule screams at me to run. Run as fast and far as my terra stained paws can carry me. However instead I exhale slowly and draw a deep breath and place one paw forward. Defying myself, I move forward the slightest bit. And then I shut my oceanic gaze bracing myself for an attack for defying the brujo who chased me from this place.

Such an attack never comes and I glance around hesitantly. There seems to be no sign of life and so I step forward again, looking up at the craggy summit. A hesitant smile mars my lips and I start forward at an easy trot, approaching the base of the mountain eagerly, it has been a long time since I took on such a challenge and I now look forward to it. My gait picks up to an easy lope as my paws thunder up the easy trail before me. I feel at ease in this place and it has been quite awhile since I was allowed the luxury of running at my own pace.

Soon enough however the rock path I follow begins to give way, and I approach a turning point in my climb. I can refuse the challenge given me, and turn around, going back down the slope. Or I can keep going, exert myself, and really push myself to get to the top. I grin and leap forward without hesitating and my paws fly out from under me as I land. A giddy laugh pierces the silence as I scramble to my paws and turn to leap onto the next cliff. I turn to look back laughing at the challenge I've overcome, and I step forward continuing the journey.

Time passes as I climb higher and the air becomes thinner and thinner. Due to physical exertion, and the warmth of the sun on my back, sweat foams on my flanks, and I heave heavily. I finally stumble onto a ledge, I collapse and close my dark orbs tongue rolling out from between my jaws and  I roll onto my side laying my cranium on the ground. Shuffling noises nearby draw my attention and I ponder for a moment how long it has been since I've has any social contact at all. I lift my cranium eyeing the shady creature for a moment before rolling over and scrambling to my terra stained paws, auditories perked forward eagerly.

I trot toward the creamy toned wolf and examine him closely. "Hello there" I greet ducking my cranium lower to the earth and offering a light smile. I relish the moment as a male voice rings through the small clearing and she lowers her frame to a sitting position. "I'm Ray of Sun. Do you mind giving yours?" she inquires tilting her cranium slightly.
