Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

It was nearing dawn now. The land lay in a gray blanket, stars fading slowly into the bluing sky above. Long shadows were cast across the ice whitened ground, leaving jail bars of blackness and silver moonlight hazy wherever the trees shot out of the ground. The pines, the only tree hardy enough to grow in the cold and altitude of Ice Mountain Peak, were as spears, think and tall with sharp looking tops. It was in one of these sparse pine groves that the oversized wolf jogged, body low to the ground and paws quite silent on the crusted ice.

Vendetta moved deftly, like a ghost in the thin forest despite his enormous size. Icy blue eyes were set ahead, all senses on alert as he traveled toward his enemies' encampment. In about six hours, there was to be a meeting back in Ice Pack with the alphas of each army. However, Vendetta was not thrilled at the idea of sitting idly back at his mother's den until then. The brute decided, instead, to attempt an eavesdrop on the enemy group and to take a tally of their wounded. He wanted information, whether or not it gave them an edge in the coming wave of battle.

The scents of Fire and Wind Gale were growing stronger as the tri-colored black, white, and red brute silently prowled in the rolling bars of shadow and silver light. He was careful, quite careful, not to make a sound lest he be found. It wouldn't do for him to be compromised while he spied alone on the enemy encampment, comrades tucked safely away up in the alphess' den back in the pack lands. No, Vendetta was all alone... Story of his life.
