Flashbacks. They happen on various occasions in my mind, but they fly by so quickly it happens in a matter of seconds, but feels like a life time:
We were gliding across the field. Laughing and talking. Having the best day of our lives, but yet how could I miss the mischief within the depths of Lena's aquamarine gems? The sparkle they always displayed when she looked at me seemed so real, but yet so painfully dangerous the more this picture boils to the surface of my mind. Everything was fine-she was having pups. My pups were in her stomach. I could recall them moving under my crown as I lay it gently on my mate's stomach, the simple sound that brought the warmness to my heart, even though the snow flakes were pouring down as me and Lena snuggled close together. Moments passed and we didn't move, letting the snow bury us with its thick, compacted blankets, and then the silence was broken by laughter and giggles as we joked in our teasing tones. Our head raised, the snow trickling down, but some still remaining, making the tingle of laughter tickle our throats before we stood simotaniously, stretching our pillars. The words came from the vixen's mouth and were off in a race, my pace slowing lightly to let Lena have the victory as we crossed the finish line, which in fact, was a log near our den. The warmth that beat through my heart kept my body from chilling to the below zero temperatures as we entered our den to close our eyes and sleep . . but yet only one of us was there when I woke up. .
Why was the world so cruel? They brought beautiful things into your life, but yet took them back when you've recieved to much, or perhaps even too little. The urge to fight back the salty liquid that formed in my tearducts was becoming more difficult, but somehow I managed to shake them off. I had kept the nickname she had given me, showing it off as my name, but yet along with it came the rememberance of each day. Mentally, I shook my head, attempting to shake away the dreadful memories, and succeeding for the most part. Luckily I had reasoned with myself just in time to snap back into reality and notice the intoxicating perfume of a presence at the pack borders. Heaving a sigh, I turned to head in the direction, my muscular bodice carrying me with ease, but yet my mind seemed distant still.
The going was slow, so much so that every step taken was taken into observation. Where his toes would land on the cold ground I might stare for a moment, until the next step was taken, tracing the intricate patterns that were left behind. My head was bowed down at this, watching the earth with a humorous gaze of inspection, as if there was something to be seen. I just had too much time on my hands, and it was too quiet. Past thoughts carried me as I ambled around at what felt like a snail’s pace, tail loose and swinging behind me. I must have been further out than I thought. The varg's presence was noticed, but it was distant; my head jerked up readily at its prompt. Suddenly something ignited me, demanding me to take a break from the incessant slow-motion voyage. My breath was a visible puff as I breathed out heavily, turning on a heel to head back the way from which I came, this time moving quickly, not wanting to keep the lupine waiting. I was long ready to meet up with stranger at the border for my first time as a pack member, though I never quite knew what I was in for when I did. I let my salmon tongue hang from my mouth as I went along, hardly pacing myself as I made my way to the thick trees that marked the border of Andere Seite. My nose twitched in the air, picking up the stranger's scent and leading me towards them; my tail was swaying lackadaisically between my hind pillars and every paw step was purposeful. Before too long, I caught sight of a vixen--a ivory wolf lying upon her back, just awaiting a presence to be known. Well I guess that was better than standing and bristling as the majority of threatening wolves do.
Shadows danced in the depths of the dense forest, causing the rustling of the leaves, or perhaps that was just the wind? One could never be too sure, but yet I wanted to believe it were the shadows. Just the eeriness gave a vibe of something dominating and dangerous. A smile graced my obsidian kissers before cautiously and quietly, I proceed until the forest opens up before me and reveals a paradisiacal patch of land, my golden lanterns fixed on the vulnerable girl. Each stride I took looked as if I was gracefully walking on air, but yet I was lethal, and showed it within my features, although my expression softened lightly when I neared the fatale. A low chuckle chimed into the atmosphere as my gaze met the fae's, "Rise, love. The alpha will be here soon, you need not submit until she is in sight." My charming voice raised up at an attempt to calm the aura around the area, succeeding hopefully. After a few heartbeats of silence and contemplation, I spoke again, "I am Calix, unranked at this specific moment. State your name, please." I eyed the pallid vixen carefully, sensing uneasiness in her actions at first- and then something else hit me. Why hadn't she howled for her presence to be heard? Surely a young wolf like herself would be just as irking and naive to do so, but instead she had chosen to play a simple game of 'come find me.' Guess there will be more questions to come, as for now I await an answer.
