The Jungle was back.

Sasha watched it emerge from the water like Atlantis, the tall tress still dripping with rain water as the flood started to vanish. Moss, fallen trees, dead leaves that coated the jungle floor all settled down into their final resting place as the sisterhood began to piece itself back together. It would be restored, one way or another - Courant had finally seen to that. Standing among the others, Sasha twitched with anticipated. Shadows skirted around her, clinging to her limbs like scared children who feared what mother might do next. She could feel the earth quake under her, her elements taking the intensity of her anticipation and unleashing pent up power. Oh, how good it felt to stretch their muscles! As the group moved through the jungle, Sasha could almost feel every tree and blade of grass singing in rejoice for the return of their masters. It was the welcoming bugle, the trumpet sounding their arrival. If she had to put it briefly, Sasha felt good to be home.

As they gathered next to the waterfall, memories of the past seemed to fall off the edge and slip in between each breath Courant took through her speech. Wasn’t it only last season when Seduction stood here, rallying the sisters together? Or was it last week when Viriarus had led them into the South to attack? So much history had been made here, in the very spot Courant had chosen to demand that they pick their new Queen. It was an interesting move made by the Immortal; Sasha would have considered picking a Queen and then getting to work instead of wasting time with diplomatic banter. Blinking slowly, her attention shifted between the group. Freska remained silent: Sasha enjoyed how loyal she was to the cause, though. If there was anything anyone needed, Freska was there with no questions asked. She was a valuable sister to have.

Sasha’s attention turned to Verily next, her belief system clearly marked by her questioning of Courant’s judgement. Ears rotating, the former Queen was curious as to how the water goddess would react if at all. She seemed to be taking beating after verbal beating with many who lost something in the Flood; Sasha prayed it wasn’t a sign of weakness. If anything, the goddess needed to provide a strong front so that the sisterhood would grow. It already seemed off to a rough start.

Listening to Verily, Sasha wasn’t surprised that the new Valkyrie had chosen to nominate her as the new Queen. Sasha had the feeling she and Verily were cut from the same cloth, spoke the same language, etc, etc. It pleased Sasha to know she would have someone like her roaming around the jungle again. As she brings up the Rajputs, her attention turns to Ankh who questions worrying about the fallen brotherhood. “It is usually when we do not think we have to worry about them that they come out of nowhere and attack. It’s better to build ourselves up now so that we might always stay ahead of them, and the other kingdoms. We are all starving and weak, uncertain of our futures and in need of new blood. While I agree that we need a leader almost desperately, we also need to pull ourselves together and start re-forming our Army and our Senate.” It would do them no good to sit around bickering about whether or not the Rajputs posed a threat or who would make a decent Queen.

She listened quietly to Primonetta and Serafina speak, their words almost muffled inside her brain as ideas and plans began to blossom. At first, she agreed with Serafina - Shysie was a staple in the Valkyrie jungle, had always been there for them no matter what. But Primonetta... Having a child Queen had worked for them in the past. She was still young, wasn’t prejudice against one Kingdom or another and seemed to have the best interest of the jungle at heart. Why else would Courant have asked her to pull the jungle together? Coming forward, Sasha stopped in front of Primonetta. “Serafina, I agree with you - Shysie’s name should be thrown into the ring for Queen. But Primonetta, I’m curious to see what you would be able to do. I nominate you.”

This will be my last confession:
“I love you” was never any blessing
