The gray-and-yellow wolf lay by Traydon River, staring at the rushing, shimmering water and watching as several fish swam by. He wasn't hungry at the moment, so he let the scaly swimmers go. Arsenic flicked the tip of his tail. It's a good day today, he thought, noting the bright sun in the clear sky, and there's nothing for me to do. After finishing that thought, the wolf switched to a sitting position and looked around. He observed some predators catching the fish from the river, while other creatures simply basked in the sun.
Getting on his paws, the canine moved a little closer to the river to take a quick drink. The water sort of sprayed on his face, making him shiver a bit. Afterward, he moved away from the river and lay in the thin layer of snow again. With the sun fortunately shining today, the lupine wasn't too cold, or too hot for that matter. Winter wasn't really the wolf's favorite season, but, he had to deal with it every year. It wasn't like he didn't know how to survive.
Rolling on his back to even out the temperature, Arsenic looked at the sky, his teal eyes half-closed, and began to fantasize. Just because I have nothing else to do, he thought with a little chuckle. The wolf stretched his legs as he watched a few oddly shaped clouds move extremely slowly across the sky. He tried to refrain from drifting off into sleep, in case somebody noticed him and wanted to speak with him for some reason.
