The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

if you find a four-leaf clover
you will discover happiness.
but it can never be found.
happiness lies inside
a secret cage.
no one can possess
the four-leaf clover.

The tension in the air was growing… and I could barely keep myself settled down. Frost Fawn struck me as the ‘act on impulse’ type and I quickly drew back away from her when she snapped at Calix. River, however, managed to keep me stabilized with her kind words. Beside me, though, it would seem that good-natured Calix has lost his temper for the moment. I flinch as he moved himself in an upper position, where he was standing above them all, though his optics were thoroughly fixed on Frost Fawn’s. I look away hurriedly as his language dirties itself up a bit more, and then I am surprised for the second time today to find that he is brushing up against me yet again, as he had done earlier. Though this time, it seemed to be with a purpose, not like the accidental brush before. I slowly turn my gaze back to Frost Fawn and offer up a cute smile, my oricles closing and my apex tilting to the side a bit. A sweet, innocent way of saying, ‘excuse my friend for his behavior. I shall train him later.’ My talons click against the terra firma, stretching out anxiously in hope that they will get a chance to shred something apart. But bloodlust is not graced upon me… and nor is malice. Therefore, I stand perfectly still, retracting my small, lethal knives back into my paws, and I listen to Calix as he sends forth another set of words.

This time, instead of freaking out on Frost Fawn, the brujo seems to be apologizing for his earlier behavior. I wonder quickly at what set him off… though I already know the answer. I just like to find things for myself to do when I’m not talking or doing anything other than sitting there. It’s silly, really. Spiteful words were still coming out of his jowls, but I can understand his anger during the moment. Frost Fawn had been pushing all of our mental walls, seeing which one she could break first… and poor, handsome Calix had mentally thrown a brick over his, and bonked her in the head with it. I silently hope that Tor will grant her peace with her decision of words that she should send back at him… and perhaps a little bit of understanding. With a new alphess in charge, it was going to be quite a while before the world came back to its normal turn. Challengers would be power-hungry and whenever they got the chance, many will still step up to claim Andere as their own. Thankfully, Liquid, Seline’s brother, or cousin I’m supposing, has filled in for her now and is taking the caller at the borders to Quarrel’s Clearing.

A quick glance over to Calix proves me right about him being unstable at the moment. He seems to have mentally shut down, as if he were to start a reboot as soon as he was conscious of his behavior again. I take this into note and lend out another set of words, this time directed to only River, as Frost Fawn has ignored me all together. I’m a bit disappointed in her decision to believe that I am merely a specter there… but whatever floats your boat, I suppose. I am faintly aware of Calix’s gaze upon me as I inquire him for his time. But I am not intending to speak to him right this moment.. so I let my words directed towards River begin first before listening to him. “Thank you, River. I will seek you out later- perhaps we could go hunting together some time.” A contagious attitude… that’s what my mother had called it. The softness of a buck’s velvety horn and yet the lethality of the bone underneath. I was indeed a weapon. But for now, I would only use my kindness towards the two vixens. I did not want to cause an uproar of any kind. Calix’s words reached my audettes and I look up at him. Ah… so it would seem that all four of us are a bit unnerved by the challenger at the borders. I flash a small smile at him, as if to say, ‘good boy!’ He apologizes sincerely for his behavior this time and I stand to my columns, sensing that he is about to leave. I hesitate, though, wondering if he wants me to follow in his footfalls…if he wants to have someone to talk to. I chuckle at his words, and turn myself around, dipping my cranial in farewell to the two femmoras we are leaving behind. “O-of course,” as soon as we are out of earshot, I frown and stop in my tracks. “Are you alright, Calix? Have I caused you trouble?” I have totally forgotten about his ‘set time and date’ to spar, as I am worried about his reaction… what will he do?
