The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

if you find a four-leaf clover
you will discover happiness.
but it can never be found.
happiness lies inside
a secret cage.
no one can possess
the four-leaf clover.

I raise my eyes, widening sages a little as I see who has come to my presence. It was Taru, the quiet femme who had been at the gathering before Clover and Calix had left together. I smile warmly, erasing all evidence that I had ever been troubled at all. My plumage wags behind me slowly, welcoming her. “Yes, I’m Clover… Taru, love, what a gorgeous name. It is indeed, nice to meet you.” I let a fraud smile… which is slightly… off compared to my others from earlier this day. I forget that I have not washed that strong scent of mint off in the river and I silently curse myself for being so dense. I am not in my right mind after all. She surprises that beautiful smile right off my palette, though, with words that scare me right out of my super clean cloak. I laugh nervously, waving it off with flicks of my tassel. “Taru, Taru… you must know that your gaze can rival that of an eagles. Yes, I’m tired… I’ve been running around all day—don’t worry yourself, I’ll be fine by tomorrow.” Why should I worry anyone else but myself about my own problems? It’s quite selfish…

It was not long afterwords though, that another scent reaches my narettes, pulling my cranial up and asking my stargazers to search around for the source of it. Sure, I don’t recognize it, but it is somewhat familiar. I must have picked it up at the pack meeting.. at least… for the short amount of time I was there. My vision picks up some movement a ways off and I lower to my hinds, curling my tail around my paws, finicky, like a kittypet. Dull evergreen watchers take in the form of a male as he approaches us. He opens his jowls to say something about my likeness of mint. If I had been human, I would have blushed. All this attention was a little too much for my liking. I dip my apex in acknowledgment, closing my eyes and letting a few words slip through my fake smile. “Yes, quite. It’s very… rejuvenating. Helps to clear the senses.” I chuckle humorlessly. “My name is Clover, and my precious friend here is Taru. You are?” I regret having introduced Taru without her consent, but she strikes me as the type that would back off from a situation like this. I nod my crown over to her, to show that I am just trying to be sweet. This boy seems quite charming, though, and just as I think of the word, yet another musk pulls my attention away.

Calix, it’s quite amazing that we’ve grown close together over the short amount of time that I’ve been here. It’s absolutely comforting to know that I am welcome… at least by one soul. I relax a tiny bit as his tall, dark form strides into the area, joining our small gathering. “Actually, I was planning on casting a spell on you, but of what sort, I couldn't remember... so I just left and came back.” I smile, though it is anything but normal. He addresses the others, and once again, it comes to subject what the male’s name is. Moving my attention back to him, I take in his appearance. Quite an array of colours, if I must say so myself. I hope my troubles aren’t too visible on my face.
