It has only been moments since I’ve offered a less-than half-hearted bow to the new King of these lands. I hadn’t even looked at him straight on. Due to information from my peripheral vision, I can tell that he is multi-colored. However, I cannot see what color his optics are. But now that I’m sitting over here, far away from the arrivals that are trickling in (save for that pup that nearly knocked me over), I’m glad I didn’t look at him. The other vixens seem to be entranced by this guy. I snort to myself, not afraid to make it audible. He may turn out not to be one… but from the googoo eyes some of these corrupted valkyries were giving him… well he certainly had the makes of a womanizer. That’s when another soul showed up. And you can guess my horrified reaction when his frosted oricles travelled over me momentarily. Brief, yes, but terrible all the same. My fur pricks up and my hackles raise about half an inch. My attention snaps away from him. It’s not him for being normal. It’s for being a male. I detest them. My sexist side shows up yet again!
I knew I should have joined Aurora Borealis. Their King had left the female Beta in charge and upgraded her position to Alphess. Sure, there were boys in that pack as well, but it was like that tribe of strong women- whom the two-legs referred to in their Roman and Grecian myths as the Amazons. Oh well, I suppose I’ll just have to deal with this troublesome quirk of the pack. Ignore it. That was gonna take some time to get used to. For the first time, I meet this Alpha’s gaze. Should he look at me at the moment, he will see my lethal glare. Oh wouldn’t it be a joy if he inquired as to why I did such a disgraceful thing. I broke this after a few seconds, and looked around at my soon-to-be pack mates. The gal who embarrassed herself beyond control was called Jersey, I believe? The femme whom had come in later was Lillian… and the male whom had caused my hackles to rise… was Rhundus. I’d also learned that the Alpha’s name was Volbeat. Sounded like a bug. The others, I don’t remember… nor do I recall if they even gave their names at all. That’s when something clicks. All these vargs seem to have complete control over their inner selves… as if they’re emotionless. Sure, I’m making assumptions, but none of them have let their own darkness filter through the dazzling mask they have on. I’m different from each of them then. I have but a picket fence instead of a plastered and molded brick wall. If you go right up to it and peer in, you can see my own secrets. But you have to get past my tank army first. Watch out. I may be more lenient towards females, but if you’re a male… I’ll shoot you right off the map and hang your sorry ass on the entrance to a den.
It is true that I was not always this distrustful and sexist towards the opposite gender. It’s just… when your father and brothers rape and have a deadly intent towards you, it’s hard to get that influence out of your cranial. I’m surprised that I’m still sane, actually. The Pharaoh lets loose his title yet again, about what… four hundred times? I struggle and resist successfully from rolling my optics. I’m sure all of us here have heard your name, boy. I take my time to look around once again, gazers landing on Jack the Ripper, as he had called himself. He was gazing at every female like they were a piece of meat. Oh no you don’t. Not while I’m here. I suppose you could say that I’ve just got my muse to be here. I wouldn’t stay if I had to put up with all males… hormones drove their every move these days- but now that I saw that lustful gaze in his pools… I was suddenly very protective of all the fae’s in this area. I’m over-reacting, aren’t I? Oh well… such is life. But if he should lay a finger on any of the ess’ here, without their permission. Well I’ve got a strong urge to just tear out his larynx right now, so I can imagine what I’ll do if he does such a deed.
