The daylight was dying as the two approached the high grasses of the outer territory, and Hassan felt an agitation rise in him. He didn't like crossing into unknown territory, much less at night, but they'd traveled all day to finally arrive and the dog didn't want to give up now. They could wait, he supposed, but to be honest the thought of having somewhere relatively safe to rest with his sister and her unborn pups was much more appealing than another sleepless night waiting up and watching over Fatima.

So they trotted in, Fatima first, stepping as lightly on her stalky, deerlike legs as her swollen, round, pup-filled belly would allow. The cream-colored saluki female was generally very slender, and even now her figure was waiflike and thin, excepting the balloon of her pregnant stomach. Along with making her fat, her pregnancy made her irritable, an emotion she was almost constantly taking out on her elder brother Hassan. The rust-colored male walked beside her, nipping occasionally at her flank as his herding-dog heritage demanded to keep her in line, keep her moving into the territory.

He had been furious when he'd found out about her pregnancy, and the fact that Fatima refused to tell him who was fathering the pups only fueled the unusual fire in his heart. All Hassan had tried to do since their departure from their old life was protect her from those that would harm her, and what now? His little sister was pregnant, with some random brute's pups. He snorted faintly at the thought. The two were siblings only nominally; despite both being dogs, they looked nothing alike, with Fatima's slender, petite frame and smooth silky cream-colored fur a contrast to Hassan's rusty brown-red fur and stocky, working-dog body. Regardless, Hassan loved Fatima, and wished only to protect her.

Perhaps that had been his problem, he thought softly, falling a little behind her and watching her in the light of the setting sun for a moment. As she struggled along the terrain, hauling her heavy self with some strain, Hassan considered the possibility that he had been too overbearing, that this - this pregnancy was an act of rebellion against him and his nurturing. But surely not... Fati was a little capricious at times, but she surely wouldn't have created the life within her just to spite him. ...Right?

"What happens now," griped the young, slender female, falling into a heavy sit underneath one of the few trees. Hassan trotted the rest of the way down the hill they'd been on to meet her, touching his nose to hers and frowning a little. They should keep moving, he was going to say, but... Fatima looked tired, and irritated, and the last thing he needed was for them to be thrown out of a gang territory.

"Now we wait," Hassan replied, lowering his powerful haunches into a tense sit as his amber eyes scanned the field. Someone would notice their intrusion, he was sure; he could only hope he was doing everything right.

The outer territory is a field with long grasses, hills, and a few sparse trees. It is rather large and prey can be found here, though large herds tend to stick in the hunting grounds of the main Wolf Mountain.
