Breeding

Before you even ingress, the knowledge of this realm’s presence is quite strong. Even though it is used only a few days each year, the amount of usage had permanently personalized its aroma. The scent of estrus is rather strong here, especially during the autumn and early winter months. During those dates, assemblies of equine bodies appear, surrounded by their herd mates and stallion. The mares seem skittish, even more so than usual, and the stallions protective. The land itself is relatively significant in dimension, being able to hold up to a few hundred occupants at a time.

  • Please use the following form as a guide for what to include in your breeding post. Fill one out for each parent, along with any other information you wish to include, and then be sure to include a list of preferred foal names and the OOC name of your foal's future player (must be within the post, not in the subject box). If anything is left out (excluding genetic code), you may receive a stillborn or a foal with defects.

    Genetic Code (if known):

  • In order to breed, mares must be at least three (3) BQ years old, and stallions must be at least two (2). This means if your horse was born last season, it cannot be bred the next breeding season. Anyone caught breeding horses under these ages will be given a stillborn.
  • Do not ask for certain traits, genders, defects or anything for your foal unless you have permission. All it takes is an email, otherwise you may be given a stillborn. Do not ask for traited parents either, this will be viewed purely as an attempt to get a traited foal and you may receive a stillborn as a result.
  • If your horse is 'highly sterile', the faerie will need to roll an even number in order for conception to take place.
  • A character with the ability to switch genders must breed as only ONE gender during the breeding season, unless they have permission to do otherwise.
  • If you roll an 80 or 'very weak foal' defect, the faerie will tell you for how long that weakness will last. It will be entered as 'Weak' into the database unless otherwise specified. If your foal is only weak up to a certain age, simply wait until that age and then ask for the 'weak' defect to be removed on the member update page, with a link to your breeding post (if possible).
  • Traits from Kingdom ranks are not genetic. If we find out you're trying to pass Kingdom traits or certain Quest traits (some are genetic, others are not. the quest faerie will say which when she gives them out) off as genetic traits, you will be given a stillborn and possibly have said traits taken away. If in doubt, ask elsewhere first.
  • NEW: The faeries now be taking your horse's genetic color code into consideration when creating your foal, so if you are aware of the genetic code and wish it to counted, please let us know! It is not compulsory and you can include the information for just one parent if you want. We will give you your foal's genetic code regardless of what information you give us, but you don't have to use that either if you don't wish. Please do not ask a faerie to work out a parent's genetic code in your breeding post. If you're uncertain of how to find out what it is, just ask an officer on the Q&S board or a fellow player on the OOC board beforehand. Faeries will only provide you with your foal's code on this board.

  • Due to excessive breeding there is now a FIVE foal limit per player per breeding season. If you wish to breed for more foals in a season, please email for permission.

    Breeding season: OPEN (19th - 23rd)
