The fem continued to watch over the waters, the wind ruffling the quad colored pelt as she heaved a deep sigh, feeling the tension ease from her body, though her mind was still running round and round unable to rest on any one thing. Her mind floated to her family and sisters and other close nit creatures to her family. She had been gone so long, she didn't know that her sister Sen had had pups since the time Nel had left and returned here, two litters in fact and to top it off her one from her oldest litter also had pups. Nel couldn't help but feel a bit inadequate at what she was supposed to be doing or have done by this time in her life. Settle down? Her? Hah! She laughed at the very thought of having pups and getting cozy with a mate and then living out the rest of her life in a slow painful manner. However in the back of her mind the thought of being of mother clung to her like a tick to skin or a bad rash. Either way, it wasn't pleasant. She didn't understand why it mattered to her so much or in fact why it even bothered her. Well, she did.
Curiosity.
The word rung in her mind like howl echoed in a cave, she wondered, just what would it be like to have pups? Nel figured she would never be able to settle with a mate, but the idea of pups certainly did bring curiosity to rise. She snorted, aloud. How foolish. It didn't matter if she had pups or not! But still she wasn't really fooling herself. It was like a bad itch now scratching at her mind. She got like this every once in a while when the time came but normally she was able to isolate herself and meditate. That was why she was here too, she figured no one would be here. How wrong she was.
She spotted the brute just as he neared shore, perhaps if his bluish pelt hadn't meshed in with the blue of the water she would have spotted the doberman sooner however it was far to late to retreat without being noticed. She watched him, even as it seemed he had not seen her but before she thought about slipping away, he spotted her. 'Crap,' she thought with a sigh, 'well to late now.' She stared him down with the forest green eyes as he came closer and closer, clearly intent with talking to her but his first words were not very encouraging.
She paused, thinking about how to respond, the black nose working out his scent, mottled with nothing but the smell of water on his drenched pelt making his scent very uniform and certainly weakened. However, the smell of Fire or Wind Gale didn’t stand out to her as she would have expected should he have been of an enemy land, well enemy no more, but still tensions would be high for some time. Figuring it wouldn’t hurt to say where she was from the fem said, “Yeah, I do.” and left it at that. Her tones were very deep for a female’s, though still clearly feminine; it was slightly deeper than a higher pitched male’s. His tone did not really ease her mind either, the rasping growl, her gaze ran over the war ground brute taking in his impressive collection of battle wounds not sure if she should respect them yet or be worried that he seemed so trained. “Why do you ask?” She had not seen him around when she was home, nor did the scent stick to him after his long swim to the island. Nel smelled of Ice, always it lingered on her pelt no matter how long she was away, that and the red feather necklace was usually a dead giveaway, most recognized it nowadays to Nel’s slight distaste.
