The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
nobody ever says goodbye, but i don't mind

Encantador tilted his head at Mellow's words, distracted in part yet again by the ethereal, almost vague quality of the red dun's choice of phrasing, and in part also by the reminder that elsewhere, outside the sanctity of the never-ending heat of the desert (if 'sanctity' was an appropriate term), it was much colder. Ah, winter. He could remember a time back when he had dwelt on Atlantis, where the chilliest it got was during the wet season, when he never seemed to be able to dry his bones in the sunshine as he was at all other times of the year. It was only in the few times he had strayed to the commons that he had experienced true cold and even seen snow for the first time. Nonetheless, Encantador had lived in warm climates all his life, so the concept of winter still seemed a very distant, almost fantastical thing to him.

"I see," he responded finally, but something troubled him and he stood a few moments scrutinizing Mellow's peachy features with curiosity shining in his dark eyes like embers. "You're the first I've met who's sought out the desert as a holiday destination. Apart from the heat, there isn't much else on offer, as you can see," he elaborated carefully, gesturing with his nose to the dry barren land all about them. "Is there another reason, may I ask?" He considered offering to guide his guest towards a more comfortable area - the oasis he spent most of his free time, perhaps - but there was something about this stranger that was undeniably... not suspicious, exactly, but... Encantador was unsure. Mellow looked trustworthy enough, and yet he doubted heavily the reason he'd given him for being here. Was he on the run? A rogue, perhaps? Encantador chewed his dark bottom lip as he mulled over the various possibilities and watched Mellow's expression carefully for any hint of what was going through his mind.
