aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

H A R U K A

My attention is so focused on the valkyrie whom I’ve come across that I did not open my eavesdroppers enough to hear the soft approaching footfalls of a youngster. Afterall, I had been expecting the alphess to come and chase me off of her lands… since I’m being such a rude guest, but that was not the case. Instead, a pallid tiny demon with striking jade stargazers was soon to be found at my side. He says something that I barely hear, since I’m still patching up some of the gal’s wounds, but it literally sounds like he is talking to himself. My own toffee audettes flicker back and I look worriedly at the small creature. But my attention is brought quickly back to the injured femmora, for her words have reached my domes.

“Shh.. don’t push yourself. It’s alright, I’m not going to hurt you, I’m merely trying to help.” She announces her title and inquires for my own. Surprisingly, the little one sounds like he’s now snapping at me, and I flick my tassel, slicing it through the atmosphere. I have ears, small fry… “DeathEater… my name is Haruka, but you may call me Haru, if you’d like.” Her energy basket seems to be depleted, and I’m not astonished to find that she doesn’t want me to leave her side. I’m not much of a clinger, but if she wanted comfort, it was the least I could do for her. The fae’s sides rise and fall in a soft cadence, and I look back to the small one beside me. Quite the odd ball, isn’t he? “And what about you? What’s your name?” As I wait for a reply from his miniature jugular area, I let my peripheral vision show me the way out of here. If I turn right now, perhaps I won’t be chopped up into mince meat… with a staggering breath, I remember DeathEater’s words before she fell unconscious. Don’t leave me. I’d heard those words before… but from a different girl… at a different time… in a totally different scenery.

Septima pressed up against me. It was the second time I’d ever seen her… and our passage way to our secret meeting place had been closed off… we were stuck in a small cavern, without any hope of getting out. Her ebon form pressed up against mine when an unearthly sound emanated from one of the many tunnels that led away from where we were. Bats. “Haru!” she screamed, nearly knocking me over. I laughed heartedly at her fear and reassuringly rasped my pink muscle over her cranial. “C’mon princess. Thought you were the adventurous type..” She glared at me, the crescent moon on her forehead scrunching up a bit with her radar. “I am!” Again, I let a laugh escape my muzzle. “Oh yeah? Well then what do you call this?” I motion to my side that she’s leaning up against, still breathing a bit quickly. It’s clear that she’s scared… and that I’m not helping much by teasing her… but I was just trying to calm her down, so that I didn’t fall into my own fears at the same time. She leans away from me and I raise my nape, inhaling as much of a scent from each tunnel that I can. My brow furrows and I look around, full circle. Which one was the right way out? I could still scent fresh air coming from somewhere… but where? I take a few steps forward, and then yelp as Septima digs her ivories into my plumage. “What the hell was that for?” Glaring toffee gazers look back at her, already dilated to get as much light as I can. Even in this state, I can still barely see her. “Don’t leave me.”

Jumping out of my little memory bank, I look to the small one. It’s only been a few moments, but I’ve just revisited a memory I would rather keep locked up… safe in storage where I can reach it when I want to. Whether he’s given me his title or not, it’s not that big of a matter. All I care is that I’m allowed to be standing on the terra firma here. “Say… you wouldn’t happen to know where your monarch is, would you? I’m an outsider, so I’m really not supposed to be here…” I pause. What am I supposed to say? ‘ I’m just gonna go now, so have a nice life, and be sure to replace her cobwebs every six hours or so?’ Oh yeah, right. I change my course of thinking and direct my tender lyrics yet again at the youngling. “Is there a place where we can take DeathEater where she will be out of harm’s terrible way?” There’s something off about this child. He doesn’t seem to be like all the other pups I’ve met… but then again, you can’t judge a book by its cover, so I suppose only time will tell. If I had any time.
