John Blanshard of Cottingwith married Mary Blanshard of Yokefleet, by lic, at Howden, 30 Apr 1829. John was bapt 11 May 1806, the son of William Blanshard (and Susannah, they married 7 Sep 1792, at Aughton).
William went to live with his son John in Winterton, and died there, 26 Jun 1847 (he must have moved in with his son John after Sep 1844, as William made his will then, and he was still 'of East Cottingwith'). John inherited a substantial estate, as several legacies to his deceased elder brother George's children were over £1,000, charged upon a farm in Withernwick, and property in East Cottingwith and Melbourne.
William's wife, Susannah, was the youngest daughter of Nicholas Blanshard (and Mary Ellis). Mary (who married John Blanshard) was her niece (daughter of her brother Robert, while John was her son, thus John Blanshard and Mary Blanshard were first cousins.
I doubt that William Blanshard and Susannah Blanshard were cousins. Susannah's father was Nicholas of Aughton, and her grandfather James Blanshard, of East Cottingwith, but originally from Spladington. William's father was George of Aughton, and his grandfather was George Blanshard, butcher of Pocklington, who later moved to Storwood. I can see no obvious connection between their trees.
