Vega nuzzled her swollen belly as the foal kicked, she'd stayed closer to the herd this season. She felt even more sluggish with this pregnancy than when she was pregnant with Varin. Speaking of sluggish, a nap sounded good to the mare right about now. The girl nickered softly and laid down on her side, letting her head rest on the new grass that spring brought. Vega snorted as a sharp pain shot through her belly. She breathed heavily and whinnied, too late to get up and go to her spot. She began pushing as her contractions grew worse, relaxing when her foal was finally born. She stood and began cleaning her colt off, surprised that he jerked away when she touched his poll. "Hello Aramis," She said softly, gently nuzzling her baby. He whinnied softly and bumped his muzzle into her neck.
Vega smiled and stepped back. "Come along and let's go meet your father," She said. Aramis stared straight ahead, only his ears moved toward Vega's voice. She cocked her head and nudged her son to stand. He stood on his own after a few tries but stayed glued to his spot when she began to walk away. "Aramis? Follow me," Vega said. The colt shook and whinnied, his eyes always staring straight ahead. Something was wrong, now Vega knew for sure. She walked back to her son and touched his shoulder, the baby jerked back like before then went towards her, this time bumping into her shoulder. Vega nuzzled her son then called out for Ennuis and even Dragon, Ennuis was a new father and may not know what was wrong, but Dragon might or have a mare who would know. Replies:
