Now I shall be lost forever, with a soul ablaze, seeking something that is not in the cards for me to find.

Her words were hypnotic, and for a long while after she had finished, Encantador stood silently, pondering what they meant for him. He was now more than certain that Woe was his sister, and that the two that had taken her away from the Harbor had been Ave and Enamorado. He stood imaginging that stormy night; in fact, he thought he remembered it, though he had not heard his sister's voice calling to him. Likely he had been grieving privately for the loss of his father, far away from all other eyes and ears. Nonetheless, it pained him to think that they had searched for him before disappearing, and that had he not been so caught up in his own selfishness, his life might have been changed for the better.

What stopped him from wanting to believe the truth of this tale was what Woe said of her dam - no, their dam. The young stallion felt numb: number than he had in a long while. In truth, part of him had known that Writhe had passed away, and that it had only been through denial that he had kept her alive in his mind with the pathetic hope that perhaps she had merely fled the islands as the rest of his family had. Nonetheless... he felt no sorrow, no surprise. He felt only a grave sort of understanding, as he stood there, head hanging, dark eyes staring blankly at his feet. He let out a gasp abruptly. It had all come together. He had only to speak the words, and Woe would know who he was, and how they were linked together.

"Your mother... she looked like me, didn't she?" After a pause, he lifted his head finally to stare her directly in the eye, gaze searching hers intently. "Her name was Writhe. The two who took you away, they were your brother and sister, Ave and Enamorado. Your father's name was El Barroco, and you look just like him. You were born in the Harbor, a place on the island of Atlantis... I know all this because I am your brother. I am Encantador, the one our siblings called for on that stormy night of your birth." He watched her sadly, waiting for a spark of understanding to light up her solemn features.
