Lost in translation

*Name: Sajjan

*Gender: Male

*Appearance (include eye/skin/hair colour): Set like a stone he is broad and tall, rising to meet the day with over six feet of clearance. Unusual in his size and habits he knows that he draws attention to himself. With short-cropped hair that is grey on the sides and his chin, and bleeds to an inky black on the top, he's flashy too. His skin is a medium creme tone, nothing quite dark, yet nothing quite light. An iridescent mocha. But those brilliant green eyes ... Wild, emerald orbs that are ringed near the center in a perfect circlet of gold. Fixating.

Age: Mid-twenties .. aging.

Personality: Quiet, brooding, Sajjan keeps to himself and lets other do the talking for him. Never one to induct conversation, unless out of curiosity.

History: Living in a world of humans has grown old on him, like a worn pair of socks. They think nothing out of the ordinary, and are content with running their unimportant lives. He has grown tired of hiding among them, and has returned to his world once more.

Sample post:
And there she was. Wavering against the sea of bodies as if she is afraid to dive into the deep end. Who wouldn't be? The unknown is a scary place, given in to the hands of fate. It may be that when you cannot see where you are going, your are afraid of where you might end up. The road is never a straight path.

I can never begin to understand her. This I have come to realize early on in our conversation. Yet there is a yearning within me that wishes I could. Something that calls to my as if she were another creature entirely. Even now, as I set my eyes upon her, I long to peel back those solid layers of her mind and expose her memories, discover her insecurities and unravel her past. But she is not of this earth. A remnant, perhaps, of an ancient thing that has been re-born into her current form.. but the disguise was never good enough.

I want her to see me.

I push my way through the crowd. Shoulders testing the warm waters as I swim against the current. My head stays clear of the fray, eyes never leaving their target. My ears rise in near excitement as the wavering throng ignores me and I feel her name rising in my throat, creeping softly onto my tongue.

"North .."

But the ocean around me blurs the noise. I haven't spoken clearly or sharply as I had intended and the words are lost in translation. I clear my throat and bob my head in preparation for a second attempt, but watch as the first greeting is stolen by another. It is someone I'm not familiar with, and this fact doesn't surprise me. There are few with who I am acquainted with, and I'd like to keep it that way. The other girl faces North and whispers a tentative greeting. I am stopped in my tracks, because there it is in front of me ... the unknown. I didn't even know what I was doing here anymore, wavering in and out of existence as if none of it had mattered. My future with anyone, albeit North, was uncertain and it was this solid fact that kept me from moving forward and turning it into a party of three. I have become rooted to the earth. My stalk-like grey legs stand as solid pillars when once they were free-moving agents. I blink and re-examine the world around me.

Perhaps I should turn away, like I have every other time, and forget this encounter like so many others that I have forgotten.
