The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

The silver tones of winter's brief dusk had long since faded to the mixed charcoal tones of night by the time Quirino returned from Quarrels Clearing. The darkness covered the lands like a melancholy drape of black velvet. Silent trees loomed overhead, watching like ancient sentinels of the forest, guarding the creatures that lay within the boundary's of Andere Seite Pack. The crimson ghost who travelled among the tall trunks seemed relaxed within his surroundings, at peace with his standing within the rapidly spinning mudball people called earth. Quirino was only a pup, yet to reach his first winter, yet, in some banishing of the word reason and all that it entailed, he had boldly confronted the recent challenger and come away sucessful. He may not have fared as well if the wolf, who called himself Darth Vader, had actually shown up for the battle, he might not have come away so easily, but since the craven wolf had chickened out, the red boy was ready to roll and proud of what he had done.

Despite his self-confidence, he walked modestly, not looking like some swaggering fool who had just won the lotto. Rather, his face held little in the line of emotion, save for a slight glitter of good-will that could be perceived in his deep, near black eyes. Quirino was maturing... Although such a thing was not exactly noticeable by his slender pup's body, it was evident in his nature. Until recently, he had been almost unbearably arrogant, unable to hide his emotions and utterly bent on winning. Save for the last article, he had changed. He was still pretty prideful, but his large ego was no longer blind in it's nature. As for hiding his emotions, it was evident that he would never be an absolutely emotionless wolf, one who always wore a mask of cold concentration, but he was himself. When necessary, he was able to bring a veneer of nonchalance to conceal his true feelings, something he found useful for delivering comebacks to Cade. His drive to win however, was something that would never change. It ad been born from he and his sibling's friendly completion and had since bloomed into something that would never leave. His desire to come out on top was a part of his mental make-up that would never fade.

Perhaps that had spurred him to go on a border-patrol directly after returning from scaring off a challenger. Most of his family was away at the moment, fulfilling some unknown mission. Though they hadn't specifically left Qui or his sister in charge, the scarlet-furred demon still viewed taking care of the premises and it's occupants as his personal duty. The responsibility didn't seem like a huge one at first, but the little wolf was beginning to feel fatigue wearing away at his stamina. He was perplexed, since he hadn't noticed it earlier in the day, but didn't let it stop him on his self-appointed task. His paws stuck out at a fixed tempo, he kept his lope smooth and steady, each small stride taking up as much ground as was possible. He went out of his way to rub against trees. He added his urine to the invisable line were the scent was growing patchy, some instinct causing him to squat rather than lift his leg to do so. Every few moments, the stallion would life his nose into the air and breath deeply, taking in the infux of aromas that floated on the chill breeze. The night air seemed alive and fresh as it entered his nasal passages. On one of those sniffs, the distinct scent of a female wolf was noted by the lad.

He was already headed in her direction, so he kept going as he was, not hurrying his steps to please a mundane wolf. He moved through the spaced trees easily, glad that only a minimal amount of ducking and dodging was required to reach his destination. A few hundred yards from the gal, he slowed to a graceful walk. He was moving quite quietly, but he did not take any pains to be silent. Rather, Qui wanted the lupine to notice him coming. When the furry ess came into his line of sight, he trained his orbs on her and stalked closer, his stance dominant but not over the top. The pup was many things, but not an idiot. He sensed a certain dangerous aura around the snowy shiela that the varg's he had previously confronted did not possess. Qui was not a coward, but he was careful. He spoke, his voice strong but devoid of bravado. "What brings you to the land of Andere Seite? My name is Quirino."
