Determination crossed her features as russet portals stare at the stones emotionlessly. Heights were the one factor that created slight fear in her. Her whole body is motionless. The only movement came from the slight breeze that causes her colorful pelt to dance. Slowly, her body begins to move, piece by piece. It begins with her tail. The banner swishes from left to right slowly. If someone were to have x-ray vision, they would see her heart racing inside her chest. They would see blood pumping through her veins at a fast pace. Excitement and anxiety rolled off of her in waves.
Something from above caused stones to fall to the ground, making a loud sound as it impacted the earth. Her brown ears flicker towards the sound and she tenses. Realizing there is no danger she shifts her attention back to the cliffs. The sun reflects off of the tan wall and causes her to squint. She shakes out her fur and begins making her way towards a pathway that leads up the mountain. Her small paws make light footfalls against the earth and as her front paws land on the pathways start, she pauses in her quest to inhale deeply. Her head turns this way and that as she makes sure she is alone. Then, she begins her ascent.
Her tail is high as she grows higher and higher. The thin pathway seems to only get thinner as it curves and twists challengingly. At one point, her paw lands on a sharp rock and she lifted it as a twinge of pain attacks it. She snarled at the lifeless object as if it to cause fear. As if realizing the rock wasn’t important, she shook her paw and continued her walk up to the top. The sun’s rays danced off of her slender frame. Only purity was in the sky, dark clouds ceased to exist. A rainbow rested at the cliff’s edge casting colors amongst the wall. Her stargazers grazed over the cliff and she shivered at the thought of falling. She paused and closed her eyes, catching her breath again. Once she calmed herself down, she continued.
It seemed to take forever to reach the top. The obstacle may seem small for anyone else but it was an achievement for her. She walked to the edge and looked down. The rainbow hovered over her like an overly large halo. The height of the fall off the cliff caused a woozy feeling to hit her and she stepped back a great distance. Once the safe feeling filled her, she rested her weight on her haunches and stared out at the world. The view of the lands was breathtaking. She curled her tail around herself and slowed her heartbeat. The hard part would be getting down.
