Talon lifted himself up so that he was laying next to her. Gently, he nuzzled her cheek to wipe away the tears.
"I'll be fine Sugar," he told her. "Don't worry about me, okay? Just get your ankle better. A few ribs won't be a problem," he knew he was lying through his teeth with his last sentence, but he had to keep her in the dark about the burning pain searing his ribcage with every breath. He licked her cheek lightly to rid her face of more tears that had fallen.
