The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

A thousand lies have made me colder

Slowly. Ever so slowly I make my way through the forest. The darkness following my every step, granting me the shadows. Muscular shoulders and hips stride in unison. Stalking like the deadly creature I have come to be. A black banner whipping with my bodies movements. I allow the full mystery of the land to take over my body language. Making me an unpredictable monster. No sure emotion portrayed within my Amber eyes. The chilled mist in the air is unable to penetrate my obsidian pelt. The clouds over head rumbling a warning of an approaching storm. A flash illuminates the demon world I live in. Horrid memories flash through my head of the last time I had seen lightning. Rain pours down hiding the silent tears the roll down my cheeks. An emotional growl rips through my throat as I begin to run, knowing the rain would hide my tears from the world around me. My cold dark soul begins to ache in remembrance of these long lost emotions. Feeling helpless in holding back them any longer. Where had the good times gone?

The flashes burn through my scared mind. Replaying the single event in which ruined my life. I see the forest. My old home. Clouds overhang the pleasant I had resided, along with my love and our pups. My paws hit the dirt heavily as I struggled to bring home the massive buck. The coming storm making me hurry to be there when my pups get scared. The rumbles grow louder and closer. The distant flashes get brighter until my eyes can see the full bolt. I near the den hearing my pups and mate inside. A smile crosses my maw as I begin to close in. A flash engulfs me. Smoke hits my nostrils as the white light is changed into a red flame. Engulfing the dry ground and burning strong. A wall of flames stands before me and my body is unable to move. Amber orbs watch as the flames engulf the den. The screams from within haunting me. I was helpless to help them. And for that they payed the price. No sooner had their screams ended did the rain vanquish the flames. Padding to the burnt den, pads burn on the scorched ground. Nothing is left, their bodies now nothing more then the dirt below my paws. I can feel the tears flow as I turn and run. But you can't run from the nightmares. You can't run from memories.

I shook myself from the memory. Stopping the tears and slowing to a walk. The mud stains my black pads. An obsidian pelt is soaked to the bone. The cold makes me shiver slightly as I look around, lost and confused. Rain continues to fall, hiding the scents away. Instinctively hackles and fur rise. Slowly and cautiously I stalk through the forest. Everything unfamiliar and unreal in amber eyes. A border scent hits me and I stop. Something to help me find my way. The border line of Andere Seite. The land of mystery and the forgotten. Possibly a way to escape the haunting memories, to start over. Silently I stand. Lifting my maw and letting my haunting howl reign over the ,now, silent land. Thunder joins in. Joined by a flash of lightning. I stand with a look of intent in my orbs. My tail curled over my back as it usually stands. Tall and unafraid I stand, waiting to see if I can retry my life.
