Hi John,

Yes, testosterone can be easily maintained even with DHT blockers. The DHT blockers are only blocking the conversion of testosterone in to DHT, not reducing the overall testosterone levels. Licorice root does have a weak estrogenic effect, but its effect on testosterone would be minimal unless you were taking very high levels for many months.

If you are worried though about internal use still an option would be to apply the licorice root extract topically instead. But this would still leave elevated DHT that could cause prostate issues. Therefore, internal DHT blockers are still recommended.

You can also help maintain testosterone levels with nettle root, which is an aromatase inhibitor (AI). AIs block the enzyme aromatase, which converts testosterone in to estrogen.
