Paradise Beach
The Paradise Beach herdland is prime beachfront property for that horse who needs a defensible, tropical paradise to call home. It consists of a long beach that runs from the Heaven’s Gate’s herself out towards the sea. The hind end is forest, but much of it consists of beach dunes and the plants that thrive in that environment. The beach runs up to the mainland portion of Island Resort.

If one has never had the chance to feel some type of freedom, they could not understand what Naita was feeling at that moment. Her andalusian body both moved with and fought with the waves as they came and went. Each time they rolled back out to sea she fought to stay close to shore. However as they came back in she went with them, hardly moving her long dancers legs until she was at the sand. Once her dark hooves touch it she rolled her back in a graceful buck, lunging down the edge of the shore line as fast as she could. The warm winds tugged at her locks and filled her lungs with its salty sting. She saw Areo run into the waves as well, as playful as a colt enjoying his first day of freedom. She whinnied, still running along the wet sand. She wondered if he could run as fast as she could. She was taller and a little younger, but this was his home. He knew all the exits and tricks; something in time she figured she would learn.
With a small turn she ran back to Areo, half rearing in greeting before contently pawing at the sand. “That was exhilarating; I’ll have to do that more often.” Grinning she stared out at the ocean, observing the rich dark colors of the sunset. The colors reflected off the water, like a mirror to another world. Could the creatures of the sea see the sunset? It would be dark soon; the urge to find a good hiding spot played in her mind. Then again, the only time she had searched for a hiding place to sleep was when she had been alone. She wasn’t alone anymore. The dark stallion that rolled in with the waves was her companion, her friend.
A wave of exhaustion hit the dappled mare and she bucked her long legs to lie on the beach. The sand was warm from the sunlight, and shifted to mold with her body. Freedom, this was her freedom; now the only question was, was she going to stay? The option had been given, she could remain here with Areo if she chose. Nibbling at her salt clumped coat she waited for Areo. She’d ask him about it later.
