Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

A soft crunch sounded from a small paw print stepping on frozen snow. Spring was coming but that would not be enough to deter the winter from living amongst the mountains. Not even the sun’s heat helped. In fact, it made it worse. The rays caused the snow to melt and then freeze during the night, causing the slopes of the mountain to be harder and more dangerous to walk amongst. Her mixture of dark colors on her pelt caused her to stand out greatly against the white of the mountain before her.

Celestreal stood on the base of the enormous mound, staring upwards. Her whole body was still as her thoughts raged inside her mind. It seemed everything was moving except her. The cold winds shifted through soft snow and caused it to fly around as if the white forms had wings. Movement from her left caused Celestreal to quickly flicker her hues to the sound of rocks falling from the mountains peak. The earth stood silent, and still as the rocks made their descent to the ice covered floor. A loud crash sounded from the rocks making impact and Celestreal simply returned to her thoughts.

Icy fingers attempted to break through her fur but to no avail. Years of living in a cave that smelled of mildew and death hardened her pain tolerance and her heart. Memories of her tiny self shivering pathetically in her sleeping place whilst her stomach growled at her angrily caused Celestreal to growl. It was a deep sound that formed in the back of her throat and reverberated around the area. It slowly cut off and she once again stood still. Not even Hades himself would dare disturb her now.

Her tail slowly started twitching as she grew annoyed. Every time she thought she saw a pathway to the peak she noticed a patch of ice or a loose rock. Frustration was building and soon she would act out of anger. Almost instantly, the stubborn fay began making her way up the mountain. Her hues flickered around the icy floor wearily as her muscles tensed. Her paws slipped constantly and pieces of the mountain kept breaking. Finally, she simply growled and leaped off the side, landing with a soft thud onto the snow covered earth.

Conquering anything that gave her slight fear was the name of the game and for her to fail only made her madder. Her eyes seemed to literally burn as she began to pace back and forth. Her ears lay flat on her dark, multicolored head. Her tail was stiff and unmoving as she eventually began to calm down. Once the anger subsided, only one emotion was left; disappointment. All her life she was called a failure, a letdown. So it would make sense that as she grew older every obstacle life could create, Celestreal wanted to leap over. Not for her pathetic version of parents but for herself.

She sighed and rested her weight on her haunches. Her hues glowered at the mountain as her body resumed that eerily still position she was in earlier. The day would soon come to an end for the sun was sinking lower and lower. Night creatures began to awaken and she closed her eyes, lowering her head in defeat. The mountain won the battle but Celestreal was still fighting the war each and every day she lived. As the sun fell behind the mountain and the moon peeked from behind its hiding place behind the trees behind her(Lots of behinds xD), the magic of the night had begun.
