The quiet serenity of this place is the first thing you notice as you wander into its embracing hold. Captivated, you look around you. Sunlight filters through the trees, pooling in golden warmth around the ground. Long legged foals bask in their youth, frolicking with each other in the meadows.
The protection of Brighton lays over this land, and it remains a safe haven for any who seek shelter, though it cannot be used as a permanent home.

He was caught more than a little off guard when the tawny mare snapped, sending Joy diving behind him. Ears swiveled this way and that, trying to make heads or tails of what was going on. He had just been about to laugh at the bay filly's antics when this had happened.
The massive skull tipped in confusion as the buckskin attempted to excuse herself from the little gathering they had. For once quiet, he let his gaze travel from face to face. Who was she speaking of? He certainly wasn't about to get mad and it didn't seem like the other stallion was either. Joy was upset, but it appeared to be the juvenile fear of doing something wrong in front of (or even worse, to) an adult. Brows furrowed deeply, he bent around, gently urging Joy out from behind him with light bunts of his widely blazed and mottled muzzle. As his warm gaze came back to rest on the mare they were all curious about, there was a glimmer of maturity in his dark eyes, fatherhood having tempered his silly personality, even if one only saw that in small doses.
I have to rather doubt that, buttercup. I can't speak for my monochrome compatriot here, nor would it be polite to, but I'm sure we'll be a whole lot of things except mad. Its a bit of a shock isn't it? I know it overwhelmed me for quite some time when I first stumbled upon this place...
The smile that curled his mottled lips was easy and warm, a fitting addition to the roughly hewn head and one that was obviously worn quite often.
