Snipe, cranes, mergansers Posted on March 16, 2012 at 05:23:12 PM by Nath Rockhill
It gets better every day in Victoria Road. Today a Wilson's snipe was winnowing over the pasture north of Mitchell Lake, and sandhill cranes were honking. Multiple song sparrows and robins sang, and a shrike vocalized from treetops (no visible leg bands, probably northern rather than loggerhead based on comparison with sound recordings.) Hooded and common mergansers joined the many Canada geese in the open water west of the dam. Replies: There have been no replies.
