The mostly red male hadn't been here in ages. His mismatched gold and blue eye moved about the terra in amazement as he noticed things that he remembered all the way from his pup hood. It was good that he did, because maybe of this he could find the old den he and his mother had lived in. It had been much to long since he had padded across these lands, he was only a pre-teen when his mother said they were going for a 'hunting trip' and it ended up them going far away. She never explained why until finally, she died. Least, Ryu was left to imagine she had died. It had been a hard existence since the day his mother had left again to hunt and never return. A few times he wondered if she hadn't simply left him like they had done his father and siblings... But she never had before that? Why leave him when he was just a teen? Well. He always prided himself in being better than his siblings at well... Everything. But he had grown out of that ####y pup that teased his golden pelted sister for being a girl, and his half-blind brother for being younger and well... Half blind. Ryu knew though that he had let Hay down by being taken away from them, but hopefully his family still lived here... Hopefully. He knew he was closing in on the den now, he could hear the quiet running of the river and the trees were looking quite familiar. His heart raced, he wondered if they would remember him. Of course they would, but would it be good. He regretted being so horrible back then, sometimes his ####iness still showed, but he knew better now. Just like how his father had talked to him.

His light left, cream colored ear twiched. As well as his dark red nose. The young red male paused then. He was here, just threw this brush. He was happy to see that there was still a worn trail, but the scent it was strange, it wasn't how he quite remembered it. Still, he moved forward and there it was. The log to which his father had constructed the den under. It was very... Flowery though, everywhere there were buds popping up, some already have bloomed with the nice warm weather. Today just adding on to the sun and warmth they needed to flourish. He knew without a doubt things had changed a lot since he had left almost a year ago exactly to this date. Still he moved around, noticing how quiet it was.

"Hello?" his tones were deep, smooth sounding much like his father's minus the English accent. Ryu took after his mother almost 100 percent, save the one dark blue eye and the small markings on his left ear, right front toes, tail tip and the snip of the nose. Moving to the den slowly, the tall male peeked his head into the entrance and gave a good sniff. Stale.

The den had been abandoned, not all that long ago but it was indeed empty now. Again he noticed the scent was different yet there were bits that remained familiar. He sighed. His family was gone. He had hoped for different, but he wasn't really all that surprised. Calypso and Hayazo were adults just like him, but Ryu had hoped that his father had still lived here. The tall male turned and padded towards the river and sat down, his cream tipped tail wrapping around his paws as he gazed over the area that was so familiar to him when he was young.

((For Hayazo))
