aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Silent. Watchful. Yet present nonetheless. Just about to reach teen-hood, my cloak had grown in length, color, and beauty. But that was nothing I could be proud about. Deep chocolate gazers follow around the woodland as if the foliage weren’t there at all to begin with. I’ve been in a sort of daze, as I’m sure everyone has, for the past few weeks. With Russia’s disappearance still fresh in my memory banks, I could do nothing but stop and stare at the life around me. When winter was overtaken by the cool hand of springtime, the trees had started making baby pinecones again. Everything, every single freaking thing, was continuing on. Yet Aurora seemed to stand still, frozen in time. Lingering on the recent attack. What madness? How could the world come to such a terrible outcome, were there really terrible people that roamed every corner, every single edge of the globe? The answer is but crystal clear. With so much good and innocence in the world- there has to be a darker force to oppose it, yes? How sickening.

T’was the gathering scents that grabbed what little attention span I had spared for the time being. And the soft sound of paws against the soil, scuffing up the earth. Mother’s perfume hit me like a rock in the skull, and I quickly raised myself. Her presence, however, was disappearing. And so, with a huff of air exhaled, I twisted my skeletal and made my way through the thick of branches that I’d come to find a small place of my own in. Going back to that cursed den was of something I couldn’t do. The feat was far too great for me. And it all wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t have left. The leave my father took was, as ironic as it is, untimely. And it plucked my heartstrings to even think about the affect it had left lingering on my dear mother’s pelt. No… he would never return; even I knew that much. My youth had long gone, and there was no longer a fun loving princess to be found under this cloak.

Dark chocolate gems find the clearing of which Sin has chosen to make a pack gathering in, and slowly but surely, I approach the area. Hesitating just long enough to raise my apex a tad bit higher. Hope still existed for my blood sister. I had to believe that… it was the only thing keeping me stuck to this hellish world- save for Darth and Akina. I would skin my father alive if I ever saw him again. Then again, Titan, mum’s first mate, had never been their either. Where the hell was he when his female needed him most? Even Cry of Freedom wouldn’t have left Akina if he knew what was to happen to his offspring. And Darth… oh how the pallid adopted pup had become a monster in his own mind. Recalling the first time I met him is like looking at a mirror. It’s easy to see, and it almost seems like it was moments ago that I flushed under his gaze. However, emotions now are pointless. I am focused on one goal and one goal only. Retrieve my sister. I’ve reached the clearing, and the sight of vargs stops me in my tracks. Not many remain, do they? And those that do have the most life left have already come. Stargazers pass over Darth- my audettes twitch at the sight. His ribs are deformed, and he has taken to crying in front of the alphess.

King Kong is present, a male whom I’ve long admired since I first laid pools on him, probably because he always struck me as a guardian figure. But I know nothing about him… nothing at all. Vela is also here, as are some others that I cannot recall the titles of. Again, making sure that my head is higher than I think my heart to be, I make my way into the clearing, making no attempt to act as pretty as my pelt deems me as. I despise this pelt. It’s a mix of mother’s markings and father’s coloring. The latter is something I wish I could erase with water, and let the russet ink flow into a crystalline fluid. Wash it away, as one would their sins. Urging my pillars to move forward towards the broken soul, I close the distance between the two of us. Darth is still there, bawling. A flash of anger takes a metal rod and smacks me in the face with it, but how I can be upset with him? I was in the den with Russia when she was taken. If I had jumped in front of her, I could have been the one in her stead. But that didn’t happen.

I was frightened. I am still frightened. But anger is not the answer. Understanding is. My ebon lined kissers part and lyrics flow softly through the larynx, past the ever-looming ivories that point down in search of blood, and out into the awaiting atmosphere. “Darth… won’t you please come and sit beside me? I could use the company.” I acknowledge Sin swiftly with a gracious nod of my crown, but I don’t want Darth to think that I am not paying him attention. Hopefully the dark regal will see my reasoning in this. As I patiently wait for an answer from his own lips, I press closer to him. I believed that the consequences of his bravery would be more appropriate over time… just a little bit of faith was needed to spur him on. Determined windows stare at the ivory form. Sure, sure, I wanted to help Russia. But first things first. Build myself back up first by helping others, and then see if my brick wall is strong enough to take a cannonball.
