Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

I was having a glorious dream. I was walking down a path, lightning bugs flickering their signals like strobe-lights, the stars having a rainbow glow, shimmering down all different colors onto my sleek pelt, which made it shimmer even more. It was dark, just the way I liked it. My mismatched eyes crossed to follow two different fireflies as they crossed paths. Their blinking had me mesmerized, I was so amazed. The trees were softly moving with the wind, which sang a light, happy song in the dead of night. But then, a voice reached my auds through the sounds. It was a light whisper, but I understood it completely. It was the voice of... My mother?

My mom, like my entire pack, perished in a forest fire. I saw it... I saw it... So how was she here, now? And what was she saying?
Her voice was trailing off, following the wind as it sped past me and disappeared. My heart was racing. My mother had turned, her creamy pelt just a smudge as she walked toward the deep forest. I knew she was waiting on me, but I couldn't move. My paws felt heavy as if they were glued to the ground. In a split second, the older femora dashed off into the forest.

I let out a melancholy howl, for I knew she would not be coming back. This was my last chance to see her, and it passed. Now I would walk alone. A lone pup in an icy cave. I had to wake up, I didn't want to be alone in this dream...

When a soft voice reached my ears, I bolted awake, panting heavily. I glanced around, and then stopped, staring up at a large female wolf with the same pelt color as my mother. I was shocked, but I was able to talk.

"Um... H-hello."

I didn't want to come right out and asked this female who she was, I thought I knew. But then again, my mom had died. Or... Did she? Maybe she escaped with a couple scratches and followed me here? My mom had always been the one I trusted, ever since my father left. He left because we could "simply not be his spawn". Mother would never have cheated. My father was not up to taking care of me, or my sister. I was born in a litter of seven, five boys and two girls. All my brothers perished in the winter that followed our birth. We survived, me and my twin. She was abused by my father before he left. I took care of her, loved her, and then later found her dead body. She was murdered. Most likely by the brute who abused her all her short life. I sighed and looked back up at the female.

"Mommy...?" I whispered, hope filling my eyes.
