The quiet serenity of this place is the first thing you notice as you wander into its embracing hold. Captivated, you look around you. Sunlight filters through the trees, pooling in golden warmth around the ground. Long legged foals bask in their youth, frolicking with each other in the meadows. The protection of Brighton lays over this land, and it remains a safe haven for any who seek shelter, though it cannot be used as a permanent home.

The young kitten certainly held a degree of self confidence but she was in no way egotistical. She was painfully aware of where she stood in the hierarchy of her world and generally made no point to stand beyond what she was. Still - she couldn't help but to be greatly entertained by this foolish naïve girl who thought that she, of all creatures, could put Serafina in her place! The audacity of it all was enough to make the Southern Valkyrie break out into another fit of giggles halfway through her little speech. Her stormy colored eyes offered the girl an intent kind of stare though she was generally disinterested in whatever sort of shame that Moonstone seemed to want her to feel. Her head tilted ever so slightly to the side as she spoke in that sweet soprano voice, "Girl - your mistaken for thinking that I actually care. In fact, you seem to be the only one put off by my presence. I wonder why that is? Think I'll steal your little toy from you?" A wicked smile painted her lips and gingerly she reached over to nudge the male at her side ever so tenderly. Her silver gaze never once left the palomino vixen, as if she was daring the female to say something. As it was, the moment of her caress didn't last terribly long, she would repay her respects where it was due which existed mostly in the realm of acknowledging her competition in Ophelia and not pressing Altair's boundaries far too much without his consent. "As it was, I hardly was interested in recruiting you, girl. I'm sure Ophelia will make something worthwhile out of you." She nodded briefly towards the Northern queen - fully recognizing the ivory maiden's abilities as both a leader and a mentor. She'd certainly have her hands full with Moonstone; gods only knew she needed guidance in these lands.

Her attention flickered back towards the idle chiding the self-righteous female seemed to inflict upon Altair when all present had decided that really his tone wasn't all that insolent in the first place. Serafina almost felt bad for him, being the subject of Moonstone's attention, but she wasn't yet ready to fully invade within their obviously complicated friendship. He seemed more then capable of taking care of himself and she doubted he would appreciate her coming to his rescue anymore then she perhaps already had. After all, as shocking as it may be, Serafina was fully capable of considering other's feelings. Thankfully Altair seemed far more interested in the invitations before him, carefully considering his options even with the nagging voice of Moonstone breathing down his spine. He'd demonstrated his ability to keep his head even in the most agitating of situations and it was a trait that Serafina could appreciate. She waited in silence as the fair Ophelia described her kingdom in all its glorious details. There was so much more to the Northern Kingdom then Ophelia had spoken of though. There was piece, a general sense of kindheartedness that invaded every soul. It was hard to voice the ambiance of the North but Serafina was certainly not the type to further her opposition's enticing land anymore than necessary. After all, she had her own place to sell.

She cleared her voice ever so slightly, her gaze resting on Altair and she made an effort to describe all the best aspects of her own kingdom. They were vastly different places and really, in the end, it all came down to preference and first impressions. "The South is known for harboring those of more…ambitious behaviors. It has a reputation for a strong army and a sly senate. Our home is forested, surrounded by Courant's waters. We try to remain steadfast in our alliances at present." She paused; her attention briefly flickered back towards the Northern queen. "Currently, the North is under our command. It's a pity though - I hope such gets rectified soon." She offered Ophelia the slightest flicker of an encouraging simper, as if to show that she really was rooting for the North's freedom. The moment was short lived, however, before her intense stare was brought back towards Altair. "Truthfully, I could use your help. The South is strong but there is much to be changed. You could flourish in our ranks." It was a small moment of vulnerability but the truth of the matter was that Serafina couldn't bring back the South to its former glory alone. As much as Altair needed a purpose, she needed a bishop in her little chess game. They could easily help each other - but it was, after all, up to him.

Before she could hear his reply, however, she was left with the grating sound of Moonstone announcing her own self worth and idly the female couldn't help but to role her eyes. She hadn't missed the small part where they were now referring to her as "queen" but the truth of the matter was that Serafina had never announced that she was royalty of any kind. And really, she wasn't. Perhaps she had taken on extra tasks as a senate member and really she did seem to be more of a figurehead in the Isles now but she wasn't as pompous as Moonstone thought she was. She could hardly control her own laughter at the palomino's proclamation but rather then answering in her own curt tongue, she was left grinning while Ophelia explained just how useless the girl's bloodline was. Oh yes, little princess, try to compare to the lover of the earth God or the guardian of the water Goddess. Let us see where that gets you! Despite her best attempts to keep her thoughts to herself, she couldn't help but to utter sardonically beneath her breath, "Shall we bow to you too?"
