On a drive down Victoria Road yesterday afternoon I had to stop to look at a hawk sitting in a tree. It was a large bird, had a dark belly and when it took off, it had the distinct dark patches at the wrists. It headed over to a thicker patch of trees, hovering occasionally on its way over.
Despite the warm weather we've had, it seems that a rough-legged hawk has remained in the area. Replies: There have been no replies.
