During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

In all honesty, he half expected the lass to break down crying in front of him… well, as much crying as you could manage with only one eye. He could tell the newcomer was pensive of him and her surroundings, which was always a good sign. Volbeat wouldn’t like weak wolves infiltrating the pack, and if he wanted his rank he would have to make good judgment on these sorts of things. She perked at his words and then answered with her own banter, introducing herself as Sydney, sweetheart, and going on to make him look a little bit like a fool for asking his question. He snorted and looked away, a slight irritation entering his azure luminaries, but he had to hand it to this fae. It was hard to throw back what he could deal out. The sarcastic brute wasn’t a model travelling companion, but anybody who could stand his humor was usually his type to hang around. Shrugging, Rhundus replied with his own lyrics, still glancing off to a tree at his left. “Well then it’s a pleasure to meet you, princess. The Alpha’s out right now on a challenge, but as long as you can guard that pretty little rear of yours I’m sure he’ll let you in. Sorry to let you down though, I can’t personally…”

A howl broke through his words, and he knew the song without ever hearing it before. It was the one lass who had been in the pack for a long time and Volbeat seemed to trust her a great deal; Devil’s Angel. What was she calling for, a pack meeting? No, it seemed more a pow wow for newcomers than a gathering for orders. Ah, well wasn’t this just perfect? Rhundus himself couldn’t accept wolves into the pack, go figure, and he only kept a few strangers company at the borders until Angel came around and did the easy part. Now all he had to do was lead this damsel to the meeting and he’d get another shiny gold star on his record. Not to mention he was intrigued by this femme, Sydney. Just how had she lost that eye; was she too weak or too strong? Anybody who could sustain that sort of injury and still have sass to chuck at him was worth a conversation and an earnest glance. The silver brute adopted a lazy grin on his kissers and turned to look at the mistress, letting a new course of lyrics flow out. “Ah, perfect timing, no? It seems a meeting’s being called for all newcomers, and it just so happens that I’m in the mood to escort you there. I’d consider myself lucky, princess.” He knew his words could very easily piss the lady off, but what did he care? The brute was more than capable to take care of his own skeleton, and what’s wrong with having a little fun? Standing and turned towards the now silent cry, Rhundus peeked back over his shoulders and gave a slight flick of his tassel. “Shall we?” And then he slipped into the underbrush and eased into a nice, gentle trot, not bothering to look back to see if he had lost Sydney. If she wasn’t a fool she would come just fine, like a sheep to the slaughter. He snickered.
