After a time away, we stopped at the Mitchell Lake dam in Victoria Road yesterday, to be greeted by the chunkalunk of an American bittern in the marsh along CKL 35. Later in the evening, a loon was calling from the Mitchell Lake bay south of the village. Nice homecoming.
