Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesBarn swallow; grebes

A single barn swallow seemed to be checking out the barn on Wylie Road this morning.
A pied-billed grebe was quietly going about its business in the marsh on lower Shrike Road, amidst the cacophany of Canada geese and great blue herons.
Another p-b grebe was heard calling in the Talbot River marsh. There was a lesser yellowlegs (best guess -- right colouring, bill, and extremely yellow legs) foraging on a small island in the marsh, and ring-necked ducks swimming in the background.
