In a land of rival races, peace has only existed on the most delicate of balances - the slightest shift could send it toppling into the abyss of chaos, and it starts with tension.
To the West lie the snowy mountains of the proud and powerful Skyfolk. There, flesh is painted with symbols and lines, hiding their true faces with masks of war and barbarism. In sharp contrast is the East: great forests expand over the mostly flat land of the Terrafolk. Here a council rules over an organized caste system – the definition of civilized society, at least to them.
Tension has always existed between the two competing races and, because of this tension, racism and hate has erupted at an alarming degree. Those of the Terra see the Skyfolk barbarism as weakness and a definite reason for their superiority. The Skyfolk see the smaller muscles, bodies, and government run on appeasement and pacifism of the Terrafolk as weakness. They exploit these weaknesses whenever they come into contact with each other and despise each other because of it.
A few years past, the Council of Terra had become frustrated with the Skyfolk. They sent a messenger to their mountains demanding that the Skyfolk be absorbed into Terrafolk culture, mainly to adopt their organized form of government rather than ruling over their separate city-states. Needless to say, this outraged the Skyfolk. Why should those who are inferior demand such a humiliating request? All of the western leaders cast their votes to decline the proposal – all except for one, whose name has been lost between the years.
However, this is just the beginning. Memories of the outrageous proposal have tainted the Skyfolk. Some itch for war, seeing the proposal as an act of fear. This fear may be all they need to finally end the reign of their eastern rivals.
This may all they need to tip the balance.
Which side will you chose?
