Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Wandering and Lonely in an Uncivil World

She reached a nice little cliff and stopped. There was a rock looking out on it and spotted the territory where she used to live. She also spotted a barren land. Swan thought she may like it. But then, as she was laying on the rock, she saw a little tiny red dot on the territory, and the whole horrifying scene that had occurred.
Her father had been patrolling with her mother, and she had been wandering around. She splashed in a little stream near her home, and then rested in the den. She soon woke up to the sound of cries. She peeked out and froze. Her parents were fighting two lone wolves. They backed the strangers to the stream, where they would drive them in a group of jagged rocks. But the bigger one picked up her mother and threw her in the rocks. Her father snarled, "NO!" His eyes glowed with hatred, and he glowered over the two wolves. They turned tail and fled. Swan raced to her mother and nosed her. She only went a couple of steps until she fell and simply died. Howling in sorrow, they placed her in the den. Then the father growled, "Come with me, Swan. We shall have our revenge." They searched and searched, but they couldn't find the two. Her father slowly got weaker as days passed with no food. They never found the killers after her father died. She dragged him back with her mother. She arranged them to be curled around each other, and she placed dirt over them. She then left.
Oh, the memory was so real! Just like it happened again! She just walked away. She couldn't go any farther, because the rest of the way was etched with ice.
