There is a report that I used for an OMB hearing last year that showed that Bobolinks will not always nest in hayfield of timothy and alfalfa. Grass fields is the preferred habitat but it will also nest in marginal fields as long as there is not too much secondary growth of trees and shrubs. Peck and James also have this broken down to habitat for nesting and almost half were in scrubby fields. Replies: There have been no replies.
