Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

How Do You Do It?!

Azure Sky laid miserably on the hard rock in the pouring rain. He flinched as the rain hit his broken leg. It seemed to hurt more the longer he laid there. His fur was parted on his back from the pouring rain and there was a small puddle of blood and water under his leg. After a bit longer he tried to stand but yelped and lay again when pain shot through him. After the pain subdued a bit he tried to stand again, this time more slowly. He very slowly eased himself up into a standing position and stood still to rest.

Climbing down the rocks was harder than getting up because the pain in his leg had increased greatly as he lay up there. Not all of the slowness was due to his injured leg though. He wasn’t sure where to go when he did finally get down. He didn’t want to go into his den where Rinoa was but maybe she’d left. If she had left then his den would be a great place to rest. Azure grimaced as he eased himself down another rock. Knowing Rinoa she wouldn’t give up that easily.

By the time Azure Sky got to the bottom of the mountain he didn’t care much if Rinoa was in his den, his leg hurt too much. Even though he had only been a few yards up the mountain it had seemed to take days to get down again. He leaned against a rock and caught his breath, he couldn’t believe how hard it was to move. After resting for another few minutes Azure hobbled to his den but he hesitated at the mouth. Was he really ready to see Rinoa right now? Well she probably saw me by now and there’s nowhere else to go that’s close enough. Azure dragged himself into the den and flopped down on his side in the corner of the den. His breath came heavily and he concentrated on breathing in and out for a few minutes. When his breathing evened out a little he noticed the smell of fawn in the den. His stomach growled and he looked up to find where the smell was coming from when, sure enough, there was Rinoa. Azure put his ears back and looked away, not wanting to deal with the over reaction that was sure to come.
