I walked into the cavern, memories swarming my mind from the last time I had come here. Here was where I had been with James, the dear little pup, and I had been over in this mineral pond when I healed my wounds. I had lived alone for years, but now I had given up on my plans of vengence. It just wasn't worth it.
Word had caught my ear of Abendrot needing more warriors, and kidnapping was a new plan they had. Abendrot wasn't evil, I had concluded long ago, it was just fierce. Like me. I wanted a home there. I would prove that I was worthy by bringing a prisoner. It would be so much better this way. She would never guess my intentions, I didn't have the Abendrot scent.
"Well hello there, darling," I crooned. "Are you lost? I know of a good place for you."
