Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesGolden- and Blue-winged songs and trumpeting trumpeters

They're back this morning, whoever they are -- golden-winged song heard in field south of S. Mt. Rd. near Blanchard's, and both g. and b. songs heard off Raven Lake Rd. from the small road running east bordering the last property before the lake. Not having an hour to kill, I didn't try to see them.
On Raven lake were two pairs of trumpeter swans; at least one could be heard from a long distance. Loons also calling. And suddenly lots of chestnut-sided warblers singing all along the roads.
