So, to be clear our primary objective is branding - and not Chess Federation of Canada memberships. The objective is to place your brand (as firmly as possible) within a potential market. If the potential market has been accurately assessed - then Chess Federation of Canada membership will surly come.
And yes, clean slate is a good choice of words. There is also a cultural opportunity - chess (organized participation or not) can bridge any and all differences! When I mentioned the C.F.C. magazine I was speaking of the electronic version. And speaking of which, it would serve you well to publish images of those Skype events.
The organizers would be come from the community centers already in place. I'm sure that school teachers would be also eager to participate.
