aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Darth did not respond, even when I nudged his shoulder once toi make sure he was still breathing at all. I perk up again when another male enters the scene. I don’t believe I am beautiful, nor is ithis the time to be upset about petty things such as beauty, but he did not even acknowledge my being there- just as Sin had not told me of what I was to do. I didn’t know him- but he must have been Sin’s son, for he acknowledged her quite informally. It was as if he were someone she knew well. Which I didn’t mind, if you think me to be jealous- I do not have time for such emotions as those, which were set free by Pandora when her curiosity got the better of her. She destroyed us all the day that gal opened the box she was forbidden to crack. Once again, I’m not the best listener out there, so I nearly got skinned when his sharp words erupted fireworks into the awaiting atmosphere. Goodness gracious. I don’t know him, I repeat. And I honestly do not wish to know him.

My hackles instinctively rose and I almost managed to get into a full out defense posture. However, he exited and I was left looking like I’d just seen my father waltz in with a grin upon his ugly red face. Upset and a little jittered because of the sudden noise, I press a small kiss to Darth’s shoulder blade closest to me, to show that I’m leaving, and turn around, heading away from the chaos that has become a main contributer to what Aurora Borealis runs off of. This pack needs to pull itself together more strongly. I can understand that we are frail because we are mostly females running this show, but… I continue walking. Afterall, Sin had not told me what I was to do and the determined grimace upon my kissers explained everything. I’ve been searching high and low for my missing sister. And I’m not about to sit down now, and mark some borders just because we’re all a little out of the ordinary right now. It would seem our brick wall has been turned to mush and if anyone else hits us, well… its going down to the earth.

Yet another soldier enters the camp. Again, I know nothing of this one, though his one ebon leg has me wondering who the heck his parents were. That’s a strange marking to behold, and even more rare to be able to pull it off successfully. I give him a small acknowledgment with my stargazers, by following him before I angle myself towards my mother, Akina. She is beautiful, but looks as if she could drop dead any moment. Physically she looks fine- but popping out two litters is a strenuous job- not to mention the fact that two of her mates have left her here… though I don’t believe my father knew that Titan was going to leave her… again. Well, all has been said and done, so here she is, looking as breakable as a porcelain doll left up on a high shelf, teetering towards the edge… it is inevitable that she will fall… but I can always give her a little nudge to push her back and lengthen her time a bit more. And that is just what I plan to do. Pausing in mid-stride, I give her my look. If she remembers from when I was little (and no mother can ever forget such important things as that), she should know that I’m going to do something utterly stupid or unbelievable. It all depends on how fate plays her hand on whether or not I’ll succeed. But I’m going to try anyway… and she should know that she won’t see me again until I have Russia by my side. I would help Sin as well… but Russia is my sibling. I’d do anything to get her back first. My look to my dam is full of fear, courage, and of course, promise.

Whether or not my dearest origin read this long gone face, which I had shown the day before Russia was taken, when we were determined to go and mess up something or other, was up to Akina’s memory. That was all that would comfort her now. Or, my end could be in progress here. If Russia was taken by another pack, well… trespassing would be a sin. For now, I was a rogue. A wanderer that didn’t have a home to go back to. Going to separate packs was the first thing I would do. Though it was the most deadly, it would probably be the most successful. Pack wolves also get around as well, so they may have seen the lass with crimson stilts… I bow my dial in the direction of Akina, and then, with my chocolates still holding on her own optics, I take off at a fast lope, determined to get out of Aurora before nightfall. Heart beat fast under my ribcage, begging to be let out and set free. It wasn’t a duty I was told to do. It sounded stupid and cliché, as if I was trying to get all the glory of saving my sibling from Sin, who had saved my mothers other child Red China.

What hit me then was that my mother never really kept a good hold on her pups. She was there for us, of course, there was no denying that, but her tender heart kept itself distant when we grew older than toddlers. I longed for her kindness and approval. But it was too late now to go back and ask. I had just crossed the territory line, leading me out of Aurora.
