Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Nothing feels right anymore. Nothing's normal, or the same.

But when has it ever been? How can he define what normality is in his life? Was it normal when he was with his blood brothers and his family in his first pack? Or when he had Soul with him, beside him, her love like some solid rock for him to lean against? Or perhaps it was in Bright Moon, the only place he's really considered to be a home, even over Casteon. With Tamlin and the rest of them. But even then, he was not himself. Ray was not born a broken boy, he was made one. And so, he comes to the conclusion that there never was a 'normal' in his life. What he considers normal is the things that are never-changing, when his existence isn't turbulent with sadness, when he has something, someone. From these thoughts, the golden boy begins to wonder what it'd be like if he had decided to stay. If he didn't leave. Would he still be the ghosting beta, the one meandering along the borders to say hello to fellow wanderers? Or maybe he'd have broken down even faster, surrounded by those who just couldn't and wouldn't understand the pain engraved deep inside him.

Except for Misty. She doesn't have to worry over whether or not his mind has strayed to her because it has - more than he'd care to admit. She has been his anchor, the only thing there for him in a place where everyone else is moving on. Ray knows that it has been a long while since Tamlin has ached for Satowra like he has been doing for so long. He knows that the alpha has probably forgotten about Rio, too - but Ray hasn't. Maybe that's just him, though. Maybe he's cursed with remembering; because no matter what he does, he can't seem to forget the things that have happened to him no matter how terrible they are.

As he watches her, this wolf that may or may not just be a projected image from his aching heart and his responding mind, Ray can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of... he doesn't know. Like he's coming back. Like he's found whatever it is that lets him return, receives him with a warm smile. That sense of closeness, like memories of warmth and laughter that were few and far between, but happened anyway. Her smile grows deeper, more indulgent, and happiness blooms in his chest. He's made her smile, that makes him overjoyed. Misty has never been the type of girl to be exuberant - at least, not since he's known her. She'd probably been more playful before her past lovers. All of them probably had been. She replies with soft words that have his tail wagging slightly and Ray lifts himself lithely so he's standing.

Precariously on the edge, Raylen feels large. Not even physically - which he is, he towers over many - but figuratively as well. He is the reason behind the light in his eyes and he loves that. "Come sit with me," he tells her softly, request hesitant as he steps over to make room for her. If she wants to come to him, that is. "Tell me, how is everyone?"

"and i will give you every part of me,"
