aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

What a disappointment.

The challenge had been obnoxiously short. He landed a couple attacks, one deep on the top of my hindquarters, and the other leaving a few shallow scratches on my shoulder. After his second attack he cowered back, and ran with his tail between his legs. I couldn't believe it. I finally had a chance to vent out a lot of rage in the way I knew best, and the bastard left before I got a single drop of blood on my tongue. A snorted in the direction of the lily-livered fool before turning and heading towards the main trail. I was tempted to take the same side trail back, pass by the Caverns. Just to see if Akina was still over that way. I decided against it, however. It was her business, I had no right to interfere.

The way home, moving along the main path, was nearly a straight shot for the first three-fourths, and then I took a series of smaller trails until I ended up at the western border Aurora Borealis. I walked about half an hour into the territory until I was in a clearing that had a river cutting through it. I lapped at the water, clearing my throat before I prepared to howl for Sin. I wasn't entirely sure if they were still in the meeting or not, but I wished to speak to Sin away from everyone anyways. Both to tell her about the victory and secured safety of the pack, and I had a few other things in mind to discuss as well. I howled a decent length message for the alpha, alerting her that I was back from the fight and wished to have an audience with her. I was clear that it wasn't urgent, simply a request for when she was next available to meet.

I sat right beside the river, deciding to wait out a reply from the alpha. Or perhaps waiting for her to join me, whichever she decided. Until then my mind refused to sit idle. It mused on whatever random thing I thought of, mostly Akina. Akina and the pups … my pups. I knew there was another litter, not my blood, but hers. I suppose I would need a relationship with them aswell, if their mother decided to keep me as her mate. However my main concern was with my litter. The litter that I wasn't there for. Ninkou, and Hachi, and Brave. I missed them growing up, I didn't have to be completely absent after this point though. If I remembered correctly they would be aged quite a bit, right on the edge of adulthood. We were well overdue for a reunion.
